Number 20!

We went to the library and voted early this morning. There were about twenty people ahead of us from the ballet area. The weather was nice, parking was very close, and everyone was polite. The voting line surrounded the entire block when we left to visit Deli Lane for breakfast. It was a nice experience, and most people said they did not mind waiting so their vote would count. Adam has a Doctors note stating for health reasons he cannot stand for long periods of time and should be able to walk right in and vote. He really can't stand for long periods of time since his leg is still swollen. S. and E. told me they were going to vote on Sunday. Hopefully they did. November 4, is just around the corner. Whew. . . .

Why don't you all vote absentee ballot? that way there is no line, or waiting. I have plenty of friends that vote that way. It is not an old fogie thing.

As the probable old fogie in question, I have to say Big Ed has a point. Our absentee ballots come in a timely manner and we send them right back, in a day or two at most.

There is a web site that confirms when the ballot is received. Our confirmation appeared on line days before the long-line early voting began.

We voted on a Saturday - there was a short line ahead of us and we were there before 8:30am when the doors opened. Couple behind us brought the grandkids to see democracy in action. I knew a couple of the poll workers. Small town life tends to lead to one's friends or co-workers being in places like the election offices or hospital visitor desks. Lots of people are kind of digging in with fingernails hoping this will all be over soon and there'll be no lingering vote counts a-la hanging-chads. I'll be on the state and local election sites watching to see how we did.

Rumor is that the 'Guard is on standby in some Florida locations....

Good luck, Ev'body!

S. and E. voted too. We are all accounted for by voting early which is wonderful news. Now. we wait.
