A voice from the past

Wow, we just received a text message from David Nielson who is in Mexico serving his time with the Airforce. He told everyone "Happy Turkey Day!" Our prayers are with you David :)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I didn't know David but wish him safety for himself and a well stuffed Turkey for his plate. What does the airforce need to do in Mexico one wonders? Just thinking about it makes me grateful that people like David are willing to serve the country to keep it so we can all observe a day of Thanksgiving!

David lived with us for one year after his house was destroyed by a fire in his SR year of high school. He entered the Airforce while living with us since his heart was on having a military career. I remember the day he joined the Airforce since the recruiting office was just across the street from the bank I worked for at the time. He joined the ROTC and became an Eagle Scout while living with us. We are not sure what he is doing is Mexico; however, I remember a conversation about auto repair which is his specialty.

Mexico, this is one place George Bush can say Democracy has succeeded. We keep a base there to remind the world of our success. Mexico does not have a military base in our country. It is just that half their country moved in to the U.S. If the war does not succeed in Iraq he can say he was successful somewhere else.

It would really be great to see David again. This eagle really flew far away when he spread his wings.
