With permission of course.

As we walked past this shelf inside a department store today, Mark asked me if Steve and Elissa wouldn't mind if we bought this drum set for our future grandchild? This brought back memories of a drum pad aka reversible card table on bus band trips of the past. I'm still trying to figure out how he smuggled the inching powder on the bus. I bet he bought the inching powder after parent inspections. Yes, hum, in Boston there were several magic shops. As a bonus, the Band Teacher he had at the time thought it was funny as well. Steve was told not to do this again and did he use it all. No punishment issued. Just combined laugher.

I can still envision the young musician sitting cross legged on our living room floor beating out time on his portable drum pad. Until he gave us a new definition, I had thought a High Hat was just headwear.

This grandchild's interests will probably be different than any of his or hers ancestors. How 'bout that tuba!

Tuba, Drumset - just make sure whatever you give them has a STOP button or they'll never speak to you again. Well, not until the baby is sleeping through the night or else turns 14, whichever comes first!

Come to think of it...future grandchild...

This is not a "public service announcement" of some kind, is it?

;)

No Ma’am, Aunt Doc01, this is not a public service announcement. We were reminiscing about the past and our search for a drum set for Steve when he was younger.

I wouldn't mind raising a tuba player! As long as it's not percussion like dad...I can only deal with so much tapping...

Not that we're planning on bringing any babies into the world anytime soon...my biological clock is quiet for now.
