Tick tock......Sleep....Tick tock....sleep....

One of my co-workers called out sick last week one day before Christmas Eve. So I worked her shift and mine. My day started at 6:30 a.m. so I could print my surgery schedules and get an early start on my day. By 7:15 p.m., I was more than happy to punch the time clock. Next, I drove another employee to the metro-rail station so she would not have to take the bus on US1. When I got home and walked inside the house, Mark had my dinner waiting for me on a plate covered in foil. A few minutes after I ate dinner, I was asleep. Boom, I blinked my eyes, and it is now 6:00 a.m. Once more, I am on my way to work before the sun rises. This time, its Christmas Eve. I chose to work so Moms with young children could be home and enjoy the memories they will collect for their future. The patients I called that day were happy despite any aliments they were concerned about. Many of them thanked me for working on a day they knew I'd rather be home. It was worth every moment of my time once the family gathered to celebrate our holiday. We have many blessings to be thankful for.

One of the blessings the family has to be thankful for at this time of year - and all year round is YOU! And you are blessed having in a husband who keeps your dinner warm and waiting. That's better than a pair of wool socks at 30-below!

I'v started twice to comment and just can't. o1 Doc said it all for me. So I'll just say ditto - and thank you for driving us when you were already so tired.

I'm sure you went to sleep early the next couple of nights. I also enjoyed the Christmas dinner, and I'm thinking you are glad you didn't have to come up with that dinner too, along with the turkey dinner.
