Drama

This is how I found my car in the parking garage after working my evening shift. Hit and run while attempting to park their vehicle at my expense. Most of their gray paint was on the ground. A South Miami Police officer just happen to be visiting a patient and told me this was an unoccupied vehicle with nobody to charge. My feelings felt as if I had just been taken advantage of by a patient I more than likely talked to previously on the telephone.

This is such a sad situation. You have been "winged" but it's more than just a scratch. Shame on them!

Are there no surveillance cameras in that garage? Seems like that would be a way to find "someone to charge". I'd go ahead and do an accident report - even a delayed one - so the insurance will have something to read while they're deciding to raise your rates. My sympathies to your fender.

We are still trying to figure out why security won't pull camera videos after an incident like this. Cars are dented everyday and they just don't want to get involved was our final thought. A car was broken into on Friday in the day shift. Maybe now they will pull the video.

Usually private Hospital Security won't write a police offense/incident report and submit it to the State's Attorneys Office to prosecute an offender - Law Enforcement deputies or officers will, if the evidence of a crime is there... If Law Enforcement requests a surveillance tape from Security and it's still available (not taped over already, that is...) then Security will give the tape to Law Enforcement for review. At which point a tag number may be visible. Which might lead to a car with evidence of dinging yours. We'd all say Hooray! But, check with Security to be sure they don't issue citations and have arrest powers. I could be wrong. In which case, bug them until they respond!

True, they will call the South Miami Police Department for the incident report for the State Attorney to process. Security prefers not to call due to the paperwork and time issues. We do have a form for the hospital which amounts to zero. The security cameras are in the corners of the garage up high.

I was in my car once in Miami and the woman who's husband just pulled in the spot next to me threw her door open and into my car. Man she was surprised to see me jusp out of the car and begin to yell at her. Both of our husbands came out of the store we were parked infront of wondering what was going on. I was upset, and she was not, so her husband began apologizing to us left and right. Richard's face was priceless. In the 5 minutes he was in the store, I had defended our property, along with the 1 week old infant in our back seat, Nathan. The other husband offered to give us money. We didn't take it, but looking back I think he was trying to get me to stop yelling at his wife who was oblivious to the whole thing.
